Hi, my name is Alana Macpherson. I was born and still live in North Wales.

I studied Occupational Therapy at Wrexham University and graduated in 2019.

During my OT career so far, I have had the experience of working within acute hospital wards supporting individuals with a wide range of medical conditions.

One of my key roles has been within the emergency department, working with the older population to support them to return home from hospital and remain as independent as possible within their own homes.

I am passionate about working with older people and have an in-depth understanding of how frailty can impact on their function and well-being.

From a young age my family values were installed into me which were; to be compassionate and to look after others. From my experiencing of looking after my loved ones, I knew I had a passion for helping people and wanted to make this my career. I came across OT and was inspired by how diverse and exciting it sounded.

I love that no two days are the same. I get the best job satisfaction working with people to help them get back to doing what they enjoy and realise that age is only a number!

I love that OT is a holistic profession and we can think outside of the box to help our clients no matter how big or small their goals are.

In my spare time, I enjoy walks on the beach with my dog, quality time with my family and friends, and travelling.

My favourite quote is: “Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” - Napoleon Hill

Hello, I’m Tracy. I graduated from Glyndwr University in Wrexham in 2016, and I have worked for the NHS since 2018.

I have varied experience of working with patients who have different health conditions with both mental and physical needs. I have vast experience of acute and community working and working within different speciality settings like frailty and orthopaedics. I have experience of working with people who have palliative conditions and I am passionate about helping these people achieve their goals. I am also experienced in moving and handling, supporting individuals to find dignified solutions to their needs.

I am really proud to have worked through the COVID pandemic, and I’m proud of my work supporting patients to reach their optimum potential within an acute setting. My passion is to support people and their caregivers to achieve those goals, promoting independence with living at home. I thrive on doing my best for my clients and giving people the service they deserve.

I am from Old Colwyn and am married with three children. My youngest child being a full-time wheelchair user with additional needs. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and doing active pasttimes. I am really excited to start this new venture with four other amazing OTs friends.

Having a Son who is a full-time wheelchair user gives me great insight into how those with additional needs navigate healthcare systems and their everyday lives and this benefits me as an OT.

Occupational Therapy to me is enabling people to do what is important to them and having that professional relationship to really understand them as a person with a holistic approach to inspire to achieve more. Being creative and dynamic with the support I offer to clients is what makes me proud of who I am as an Occupational Therapist.

I first discovered Occupational Therapy when my nan was assessed at home to enable her independence by a social services Occupational Therapist. I was then lucky enough in my job to work alongside OTs and I was inspired from then to complete the degree myself.

My favourite quotes are “I deserve to do work that fulfills me, and I deserve to hold my dream job,” and “I am in control of my life.”

    MSc Advanced Clinical Practice

    HCPC: OT30108

I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1999 and have had many years NHS experience working with people with a wide range of physical and mental health needs. I am a frailty specialist OT who is passionate about working with older people and enabling them to live the life they want, in their own homes for as long as possible. I have further qualifications in advanced clinical practice and have a comprehensive understanding of the impact of physical health conditions/medications on how a person functions.

I’m from Prestatyn on the North Wales coast where I live with my husband. I have 3 grown up children who are all in full-time further education. I love to travel, especially to the United States and I enjoy spending lots of time with family. I love true crime podcasts, home decor and coffee. I am a Christian and my faith is important to me, I love the fact that OT as a profession is designed to address an individual’s spirituality as much as their physical health needs.

I originally decided on OT as a career when I was 16, motivated by the fact that the profession is entirely holistic and rooted in creativity. I am passionate about change and supporting others to find fulfilment in all aspects of their daily lives. I believe OT is the most fulfilling and dynamic profession and I still get excited to go to work every day.

My favourite quote is: “This isn’t about going back, it’s about life being ahead of you and you run at it! Because you never know how far you can go unless you run.” — Penny Chenery.

Helo, fy enw i yw Catrin Elena Jones. Rwyf wedi bod yn Theapydd Galwedigaethol ers 2019. Rwyf yn falch o fod yn gallu cynnig y gwasanaeth drwy’r gyfrwng gymraeg. Rwyf yn ferch farm ac yn brwdfydig iawn i gael pobol i wneud y mwyaf o’i bywydau ac i fod mor annibynol ag sy’n bosib.

Hello, my name is Catrin Elena Jones I gained my qualification in Occupational Therapy in 2019 at York St John University. I am first language Welsh and understand the importance of providing services in an individual’s first language.

Throughout my OT career I have focused my learning on the acute hospital setting, working across numerous wards and specialities. I have also spent some time working in a mental health setting where I gained invaluable experience and skills.

My most recent post is within Orthopaedics where I work with a variety of people to ensure they can return home safely and continue to get the most of their lives despite their injuries or conditions.

I was raised in a rural village and later moved to a family farm, where both of my parents worked full time while running a small campsite and the farm. My life growing up has always been busy with each of us having a role and a strong sense of purpose. When my mother was at the end of her life, all that mattered was doing the things she loves and enjoying every moment.

My aim with this service is to support people to get back to doing the things that are important to them and the things they love doing. This profession has given me the creativity to work towards people goals and support them to live life to the fullest.

When I am not busy working I enjoy going to the gym, or going for walks or on the paddleboard with my cocker spaniel, Jini. I also spend as much time as possiblewith my family on the farm.
